Hythe Circular
A contrasting undulating walk of sea, woods and canal. Meet on the beach prom on the corner of St Leonards road and West Parade. We head east following the flat coastal path past Seabrook, Sandgate and the Riviera. Here we start the first of our climbs which takes us inland to an ascent of 900 feet. Upon reaching Endbrook Park the paths become wooded and meandering. We cross Endbrook stream and once more head uphill following the ridge passing the military cemetery, Parker woods and the Dibgate MOD camp with views towards the North Downs.. The footpath crosses downhill through Sene Valley golf course to reach the Royal military canal and a pleasant homewards stroll. At the Green in Hythe people may want to stop to enjoy the "We Love Hythe Food and Drink festival" and bands. If not it is just a 1/2 mile walk back to the seaside start point where there is also the Lazy Shack Cafe. Parking on nearby roads. There are various toilets along the route. This weekend is the We Love Hythe food and drink festival: https://welovehythelife.co.uk/ on the green and there is also a similar festival in Sandgate.
